Meet the COach

Kat Harrison

“Whether you are here to have fun with a hobby, build your self esteem or develop/maintain your acting career, I will treat you like a professional. Each course is participant centred, meaning I tailor the curriculum around the needs of those taking part. I’ll never flatter you or tear you down - I’ve been in classes that take these approaches and I don’t see the benefit in either. Regardless of your reason for being here, I will push you to find your best work but more importantly I will make sure you have fun doing it! At the end of the day Acting is Playing, so if we’re not having fun, what is the point?

If at any point in your journey with BALA you find some part of the process becomes painful, I urge you to come speak with me. Mindset is the foundation of everything I do, and often the thing that’s causing distress is fixable with a conversation. 9 times out of 10 the thing you’re struggling with has affected someone else at some point and there’s always a way through. Whether it’s feeling stupid, struggling to learn lines or wrestling with textual analysis (or anything else!) you don’t need to fight it alone. That’s what I’m here for. Let me help you through the blocks and find the simple joy in acting.”
